Bob Aamodt, CFP®

FINANCIAL ADVISOR AND FOUNDER

Background

Bob Aamodt, CFP®, MBA is the founder of Rock House Financial. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with over 21 years’ experience as a professional financial advisor, he is well known for his deep expertise, integrity, and client accountability.

Bob began his advising career with American Express Financial Advisors in 1998. He went independent in 2005 in order to have more personal interaction with his clients and offer a fully independent, comprehensive solution. In 2007, he moved his firm to a renovated historic Farmington building and has added additional advisors over the years as the consultancy has grown.

To remain technically proficient, Bob pushes himself and his staff to use the most current investment tools and resources available, continually adding to his education with professional course work and independent study. Each year, he personally spends between 50 to 70 hours receiving professional training. Bob works as an adjunct instructor of finance at the University of Utah and his technical expertise is relied upon in a wide range of situations.

Before his career in financial advising, Bob had already led a privately-held software company and built and sold his first business. As a result, he offers a uniquely experienced perspective to his clientele, many of whom are themselves, self-made entrepreneurs.

Bob received both his BA in Business and his MBA from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. In addition to his passion for his clients, Bob has an equal commitment to his family and civic duties. He enjoys volunteering his time for the good of the community, and recently ran a 50-mile ultra marathon to celebrate turning 50 years old. Bob has been a member of the Utah Chamber Artists and Utah Symphony Chorus. He and his wife, Julie, are the parents of five children.

Bob is a member of the Fee-Only Network and NAPFA. You can connect with him on LinkedIn.
